Steering

The steering system allows the driver to control the direction and movement of the car safely and accurately. It enables smooth turning, lane changes, and precise handling, helping the driver maintain stability at both low and high speeds. A well-functioning steering system improves vehicle control, reduces driver effort, and enhances responsiveness, especially during tight turns or emergency maneuvers. By ensuring proper alignment and balance, the steering system plays a vital role in preventing accidents and providing a safe and comfortable driving experience.

Steering Gear

The steering gear, whether Rack & Pinion or Gear Box style, is the heart of the system. Most units are hydraulic and can leak and become worn. Newer cars use electric units that wear and cause heavier than usual loads on the electrical system. RPM Automotive has the skill, tools and equipment to install and calibrate any part in the steering system!

Steering Parts Restoration

Linked to the steering gear, Tie rods, Pitman Arms, and Idler arms are pivot points. These items require regular maintenance and over miles and miles of our wonderful roads sometime need to be replaced. Worn components cause play in the steering wheel and in worse cases wheel and tire detachment. From classics to company fleets, RPM will keep you on the road!

Hoses, Pumps and Sensors

Over years of driving, hoses can start to leak and contaminate the power steering system. The driver may notice symptoms such as low fluids, hard to turn at low speeds, or fluid under the car. The steering system also uses sensors to determine the amount of assistance needed or angle of the steering wheel. This information is used to determine any issues in the system as well communicated to other modules such as ABS. Vehicle not feeling like it use to? Come see RPM Automotive.
